What are the advantages of progresssive eyegles? What is its cost range?

I use a bi-focal gl, +1.75 for near vision and -1.5 for distance vision in one eye and slightly more in the other. I am having problems while driving and using computers. Can a progressive eyegl would be helpful? What would be the cost range for such gles of average quality?
