Whats an entertaining aquatic pet?

I have a 16g tank, with a heater. I am experienced with saltwater. I was wondering what is a smart, friendly aquatic pet. I was thinking of a red eared-slider, but I hear a 16g is too small. Maybe an amphibian tank, half water half land? Any ideas?
