joints on granite tile?

I have read that you can granite tile in dry areas but wet areas need a 1/16 inch grout line. I ume that is to prevent moisture leaks. Have read that you can joint and use resin to seal joints. Some one said a contractor uses unsanded grout but that seems like it would easily chip out since we're talking a very small amount. Does anyone with experience know what the best way to seal the line?
